Reading other book lovers
I found a new fun thing to do on the Internet. Just what I need: another distraction. But really, this thing is so fun and so interesting, and I haven't done a whole lot with it yet, but I'll bet I will. It's called LibraryThing. You can set up an account for free and log your books and put notes in and have this great database of all your books (or many of them--I think the free version limits how many you can log) that your friends can search. Why? I don't know. Why not?
There's even a blog! Yeah, like that's a big surprise. Everbody and her cat seems to have a blog these days. Did I tell you that I read somewhere that the average blogger is a 12-year-old girl who writes about her cat? Did I mention I have two cats? I also have two blogs. Check out my Wilder Writing blog. Or not.
You can also join groups to talk about books, and you may be invited to join a group based on the books you've listed. It's a little like meeting someone in your favorite section of the bookstore or library, looking at what books they're holding, and inviting them to have coffee with you and talk about books. What reader doesn't want to do that?!
Have fun. I think you can see what books I have logged so far (only 52 of the god-knows-how-many on my shelves and on my floor and on my nightstand and on my kitchen table) if you search vwilder, my log-in name.
Let me know what you think, ok? And I'd also love to know what you're reading.

Wow--I'm so glad you found this site and told us about it, Verna! Just what I need--another internet distraction :-), but I can't resist this one!
