Tag! I'm it . . . .
My pal Dave Rothacker (who writes a really cool blog) blog-tagged me. Gosh, six months ago I knew so little about blogs that I had never actually read one, and now I've been tagged to tell you five things about myself that you probably don't know. And that's going to be hard because I feel like you already know a heck of a lot about my life. OK then, here we go:
- I don't usually say "gosh" and "heck," which you know if you've ever worked with me or played with me, but I don't say those other words on my blog. No potty mouth on the Internet for me (dammit!).
- I was married for 15 years before I figured out I'm a lesbian. OK, I'm a slow learner.
- When I was 18, I went to a party with The Beach Boys. Well, I didn't actually go there with them. I went there with my boyfriend Tommy, and The Beach Boys happened to be there. Honest.
- I used to play the guitar -- classical as well as folk -- and I could even string my own guitar. But that was years ago. Kumbaya.
- Two short pieces of mine have been published in anthologies. One of them was a great piece of erotica. Don't even ask. It's out of print.
With that confession behind me, I now get to tag five other bloggers. Please check out their sites. These are really cool people.
Lisa Wilder is my beautiful and talented and gracious and funny and loving and ok I'll stop now -- daughter. She's also a brilliant coach. And by tagging her, maybe she'll reveal something I don't already know about her. As both of my daughters have grown up, they occasionally tell me things they did in their teens that I'm happy they hadn't shared with me then.
Terry Gold is the Excellent CEO of Gold Systems in Boulder and a darned nice guy. I've mentioned him before in my blog. When you go to his blog, take a look at his photos (under Categories, click on Photography). Terry is multi-talented. And when I decided to start playing the guitar again (back to Me and Bobby McGee), I asked Terry to string my guitar.
M.D. Benoit (Dominique) writes sci-fi mysteries and posts some fascinating stuff to her blog. I can wander around in her perception of this weird world for hours. Dominique is the only person I know who actually wrote a novel during NaNoWriMo, and she doesn't even gloat! Way to go, MD!
Sharon Sarmiento is a virtual assistant (VA), and if you don't know what that is you might think you wouldn't be interested in reading about it, but her writing is so good that I could read her grocery list and be entertained. I think. Sharon is generous with her knowledge and expertise, and she sounds like someone you'd like to sip mint juleps with (she lives in Alabama).
Andy Wibbels wrote the book that got me started blogging. Andy changed my life. And he's nice. And he cracks me up. And I really like his opinionated and gutsy postings to his personal blog. Also check out his business blog. AND Andy is the cool guy who started Coachamatic, that other blog I post to a few times a month. He's also very cute and very gay, and if you're a gay guy, forget it -- he's taken.
OK, that's it. I've done my part. Now you can do your part: Read some some posts on these blogs (you'll be glad you did) and let the writers know you stopped by. Writers like to have their egos stroked. But you probably knew that already.

Oh my goodness--this means I'm "it", right? So now I need to do the same thing on my blog? Cool--you've got it! (And thanks for your sweet words, Verna :-)!)
